Meet Freya: Our Halloween Giveaway Winner!

We’re thrilled to announce the winner of our Halloween giveaway, Freya! Her fantastically spooky story, “A Halloween Explosion,” blew us away with its creativity and fun, capturing the true spirit of the season.

Freya’s story takes us on an exciting adventure with Minnie Moonlight, a witch who just wanted to host the ultimate Halloween hobgoblin party. From bat soup to toad crisps, Minnie had everything planned, except one thing—a GIANT pumpkin for her spooky dinner table.

A Halloween Explosion, by Freya

A witch called Minni Moonlight decided to throw a Halloween hobgoblin party with all her witch friends. Minnie wanted all her favourite food like bat soup and toad crisps and a giant pumpkin with a scary face to sit on the dinner table. She also needed to make a scary, gooey costume to impress her friends.

Minnie had lots of pumpkins growing in her garden, but… They were all too small. Minnie needed a GIANT pumpkin so she decided to use her magic wand to help her pumpkins grow. Minnie got her wand and shouted pumpkin grow, pumpkin grow and make my Halloween party a hobgoblin show.

The pumpkins groaned but didn’t grow, so Minnie shouted louder and LOUDER. Suddenly the sky went black and Minnie started to tremble as the pumpkins started getting bigger and bigger. Uh Oh, they weren’t stopping and Minnie could see the pumpkins getting as a big as the full moon.

Then one went POP and pumpkin goo flew out of the top of the pumpkin and all over Minnie and her broomstick.

What a Halloween disaster! Oh well, at least Minnie had her scary, gooey costume ready for the party.

Freya’s story was full of the kind of fun, mischief, and Halloween magic that we love—and it was clear she had a blast writing it. We’re so happy to award her and her family with a free night’s stay in one of our apartments, where they’ll be able to enjoy the magic of Halloween, Hy-style!

Freya and her family will join us on November 1st for a hauntingly good time, where they’ll experience our spookiest décor and enjoy a cosy night together. We can’t wait to welcome them and celebrate with some ghostly fun.
