There’s a range of transport options available just a short walk away from the hotel, such as train, bus or taxi. You may choose to walk into places like Lytham, which can be done by the seafront so you’re sure to get some great views. On a clear day you can even see Southport.
Down by the beach, you can also visit the arcades for some family fun, why not have a game of bowling too? Once you’re finished you can head up the road for some tasty fish and chips by the seaside.
Things to do in Lytham
Lytham is a short journey from St Annes and has some popular landmarks such as the Lytham Windmill and Lytham Hall. If you’re choosing to walk to Lytham from St Annes, you might want to go down the seafront and visit the lovely Fairhaven Lake, make sure you keep an eye out for some interesting wildlife.
As well as there being a range of nice restaurants and pubs in Lytham, there’s also good nightlife from the range of bars around the area. Visiting Lytham St Annes is a great idea for families as well as couples of all ages. If you’re up for a more adrenaline fuelled experience, you can head to Blackpool and visit the Blackpool Pleasure Beach for a day out.

Lytham Festival
As you may already know, Lytham is home to the incredible Lytham Festival which unfortunately has not been able to go ahead for the last year. However, the festival organisers have really pulled it out the bag for 2022. The festival will now run across 2 weeks instead of just 1! There’s some very big names attending such as Diana Ross and Lewis Capaldi. With so many great transport links, Hy Hotel is in a great location to look after you during your visit to Lytham St Annes.
Lytham Wartime Weekend
Over the summer, you’ll also be able to go back in time during the Lytham Wartime Weekend, which will take place on the 20th and 21st of August 2022. This is a great learning opportunity for those interested in history. The event is free and takes place on Lytham Green.
Kite Festival
Each year, St Annes wows locals and visitors with its annual kite festival. People from all over the country bring their kites to fly on the gorgeous sandy beach. This event will take place on the 2nd to the 4th of September 2022. Be sure to check out the firework display on Friday night, you won’t regret it.
